Community Clinic

Every semester from the beginning of the program, each student spends time in the UIW School of Rehabilitation Sciences Community Clinic. Hours in the clinic depend on what year the student is. First year students may spend two to four hours in the clinic per semester. Second year students may spend six to eight hours in the clinic per semester.

The clinic offers no-cost physical therapy for individuals ages 13 and older who are not eligible for Medicare benefits. It serves the under-insured and uninsured, such as those that do not have physical therapy benefits as part of their health insurance coverage or who have exhausted their yearly benefit. Care is provided by students that are supervised by faculty members who are licensed Doctors of Physical Therapy.
