Congratulations Class of 2022! You are nearing the end of your academic career with the School of Physical Therapy. To make the process of applying for graduation (completion of degree requirements) and preparing for commencement (the ceremony celebrating your success) go smoothly, please review information provided by the Registrar’s Office at the following link and as provided in a Canvas Graduation Course: UIW Registrar - Graduation. Some events listed below may be cancelled or managed differently due to the COVID-19 situation. Updates will be provided as appropriate.

Oct. 1, 2021 PRIORITY DEADLINE – Deadline to apply for May 2022 Graduation to start the audit process with the Registrar's Office. Information provided by the Registrar’s Office by email on how to apply.
Jan. 2022 Site open for ordering regalia, announcements and/or ring for commencement. Regalia ordered through this site is rental only and must be returned following the ceremony. If you wish to purchase regalia, see a Bookstore representative.
You will need to provide your height, weight and cap size (measure the circumference of the head one inch above the ears).
Note: There is no deadline to order announcements or a ring but the turnaround time is 8 weeks or more for delivery.
Visit the Herff-Jones website to order your regalia.
  1. Under "Products" click on Cap and Gown.
  2. On the University of the Incarnate Word Page, click on the "select an option" drop down list and select "Doctor of Physical Therapy," then select "Cap and Gown" from top of the menu, then click on "Graduation Regalia."
  3. Complete the information as requested. You will need your height, weight and cap size (measure the circumference of your head one inch above the ears). This is for rental purposes only. If you wish to purchase your regalia, contact a member of the university bookstore.
  4. To order announcements, ring or diploma frame, follow Step 1 above by clicking on the appropriate tab for the item you wish to order.
January 28, 2022 DEADLINE - Statement of Intent Form must be returned to the Registrar's Office. This form verifies information for your diploma. Details will be provided by the Registrar's Office by email regarding this form.
March 1, 2022 DEADLINE - Last day to apply for May 2022 graduation to ensure publication entry. August 2022 graduates must also meet this deadline to participate in the May 2022 commencement ceremony. Information will be provided by the Registrar's Office by email on how to apply.
April 12, 2022 DEADLINE – Last day to order regalia for commencement. See instructions above.
To be announced DEADLINE - Return Confirmation of Ceremony Attendance to the Registrar's Office. This form is to confirm your attendance and to make sure that we have the correct pronunciation of your name. Details will be provided by the Registrar's Office by email.
May 1-7, 2022 Graduation Week events Schedule will be released at a later date.
May 5, 2022 Graduation Celebration 6 p.m., Rosenberg Sky Room
May 6, 2022 Baccalaureate Mass 6 p.m., Our Lady's Chapel (limited seating, virtual option will be available)
May 7, 2022 Hooding and Commencement Ceremony shared with other Health Professions schools.

  • 8:30 a.m., Arrive and assemble in the Exhibit Hall wearing your regalia
  • 9 a.m., Line up
  • 9:40 a.m., Procession begins
  • 10 a.m., Ceremony starts

Commencement Photography: All students participating in commencement will be photographed. If you are interested in ordering photographs from the ceremony, go to TheGradTeam.com.

Disability Services: If you or your guest require accommodations for a disability, please follow the instructions provided in the Canvas Graduation Course and provide a minimum of one week notice.

Driving Directions: View driving directions to the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum.

Parking: A parking pass will be provided for each graduate. Graduates should park in Lot 9. Guests arriving in a separate car will need to park separate from the graduate and pay for parking. Guest parking will be $10 (cash only). Guests will be able to park in Lots 1-8.

Tickets: Tickets are required for the School of Physical Therapy ceremony. Each graduate can request up to 12 tickets. The Registrar's Office will send out a link to request tickets. The link to request tickets will be live starting April 18.
